To check or change your spam delivery, follow these steps:
From the PersonalMail main menu, click on "control my junk email".
If your spam filter is off, click "I want to turn ON my spam filter".
Underneath "I want to change what the spam filter does with junk email", the current delivery method is indicated. To change your current delivery method, complete steps 4 and 5.
Click on the "change what the spam filter does with junk email" link. All available delivery options will be displayed.
Click on the radio button located beside the desired delivery option, and click "Ok".
An explanation of delivery options is as follows:
Delete Spam: this setting automatically deletes all email which is categorized as spam by the filter. Please note that email deleted in this fashion is unrecoverable; legitimate email which was inadvertently classified as spam will be permanently lost.
Tag and deliver spam (recommended): this is the default setting for the spam filter. All email which is classified as spam by the filter will have **SPAM** added to the beginning of the subject line. You can create a rule on your email client which can move email marked in this way to a different folder, effectively sorting it out of your legitimate email.
Quarantine
spam: this setting puts aside all email
classified as spam, and places it in a "quarantine folder" on
the mail server. The contents of the quarantine folder are not delivered
to your inbox along with your regular email. If you want to view your
quarantined email, see the instructions below.
To check your quarantine folder, follow these steps:
From the PersonalMail main menu, click on "control my junk email".
Click on the "change what the spam filter does with junk email" link.
Click on "Show quarantined email...", located underneath the "Quarantine spam" option.
A list of quarantined
email will be displayed.
Once you are in your quarantine folder, the following actions are available:
Select: clicking "select all" will select all email in the quarantined folder. You can select or deselect a specific email by clicking on the checkboxes located beside each email.
Recover: clicking "Recover selected" will cause all selected email to be delivered normally. The email addresses the recovered email was sent from will be "whitelisted"; this means that other email coming from the same address will bypass the spam filter in the future, and not be placed in the quarantine folder. For more information, see Blacklisting and Whitelisting.
Delete: clicking "delete selected" will permanently delete all email you have selected in the quarantine folder.
