Blacklisting and Whitelisting

If certain email addresses consistently send you spam or unwanted email, you can put these email addresses in your "blacklist". This is a list of email addresses which will always be considered a source of spam; all email sent from these addresses will automatically be considered spam by the filter.

 

If there are email addresses you want to bypass the spam filter, you can put these email addresses in your "whitelist". this is a list of email addresses which will always be considered a course of legitimate email; all email sent from these addresses will always be delivered normally.

 

To check your blacklist and whitelist, follow these steps:

  1. From the PersonalMail main menu, click on "control my junk email".

  2. If your spam filter is off, click "I want to turn ON my spam filter".

  3. Underneath "I want to set special rules for specific email addresses', you will be informed if you currently have any entries in your whitelist or blacklist. If you want to view these lists in greater detail, or  make changes, complete steps 4 and 5.

  4. Click on the "set special rules for specific email addresses" link. The contents of your whitelist and blacklist will be displayed.

Note: Your whitelist is comprised of the email addresses listed below "never block the following email addresses". Your blacklist is comprised of the email addresses listed below "Always block the following email addresses"
